Tīdunga: Staffordshire Hoard to Tour

On the 14th of January the Birmingham Museums and Art Gallery announced that the renowned Staffordshire Hoard, the largest ever find of Anglo-Saxon gold treasure, will go on tour on the “Mercian Trail” this upcoming summer. Read more at the museums’ official site.

Ironically, Repton, which was once the capital of the Mercian kingdom and whose crypts contain the remains of three Anglo-Saxon kings, will not be one of the stops on the tour, as recently reported in the Burton Mail.
